Review: On the nose, we get mild oak, blackberry jam notes, alcohol (this sucker is 14.5%). It’s a gorgeous medium ruby color.
Unfortunately, on the palate it’s a bit of a let down. The first sip showcased it’s nice acid profile, my second sip showed me some good tannins. Third tasting had me feeling good about a pretty well balanced wine. I had to really fight to get any flavors out of this one, though. I finally settled on notes of black cherry among the mild oak. It had a fairly clean finish, without much taste lingering on the palate. It’s definitely an easy drinker, but it was underwhelming, almost boring. No, not almost — this one’s absolutely a boring wine for someone who doesn’t want any surprises.
